During his Episcopal Visit to Bariga Archdeaconry of the Diocese of Lagos West, the Rt Revd Dr. James Olusola Odedeji told the Parishioners and Clergy in Bariga Archdeaconry that “if nobody is asking me, God Almighty will ask him”. This he said to show that he is accountable to God on every Church in the Diocese hence the necessity of the visit at this time. He further stressed that every Parish will be x-rayed after the visit to see areas they could be assisted for improvement.
Bishop Odedeji passionately told the Churches that he did not really understand why their numerical strength had not improved as the churches are situated in the midst of the thick population of Bariga area of Lagos. He encouraged them to be more involved in street evangelism using various means prayerfully and to improve their services. When people are blessed, they will call one another he added.
While addressing the people during the Brigade Parade at Christ Church, Bariga, the Diocesan emphasized that youth work is cardinal in his Episcopacy. He encouraged them to shun youthful vices such as yahoo-yahoo, hook-ups and cultism.
The Bishop in company of his wife, Dr. Mrs Lydia Olukemi Odedeji, Administrative Assistance to Bishop the Venerable Dr. Abiodun Adenariwo, the Administrative Archdeacons, and the Media team visited the four Parishes in Bariga Archdeaconry under the leadership of Venerable Femi Familoni.
