At the 2016 Diocesan Women Conference held at Caroline Adefiola Adebiyi Memorial Women Conference, Ipaja, Lagos, the Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Revd. Dr. James Olusola Odedeji, in his sermon emphasized on the necessity of meek and quiet spirit according to 1 Peter 3:3-4. He said beauty must not come from outward adornment but on the inner beauty of the ornament of meek and gentle spirit as a result of the life of Christ in one. He also spoke on the three major qualities of meek and gentle spirit.
Firstly, attitude. Attitude is more important than the appearance. Brilliancy will take you up but attitude will sustain you in any position. Your attitude will determine your future. Your attitude will make you to be preferred above others.
Secondly, habit. This is what you were used to and naturally some people have bad habit. Our habit determined our general disposition to life.
Thirdly, our believing system. A lot of people are naturally negative in their thinking. Your heart is more important and it would reflect what was in your heart. We paid attention to our appearance than our heart. A good Christian must not over react when he was offended.
Bishop Odedeji concluded that when you are soaked with the Word of God, you would be beautiful in and out and that God was not interested in your cat walking but in walking with Him.
