LAGOS WEST CELEBRATES EASTER IN FANFARE

LAGOS WEST CELEBRATES EASTER IN FANFARE

JESUS FESTIVAL

Many remembered the Jesus Festival of old Lagos Diocese at Easter as the Diocese of Lagos West celebrated the maiden edition of Jesus Festival on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Diocesan Field beside the Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos. It was such a memorable day that people pleaded the Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos West, the Revd James Olusola Odedeji to make it an annual event. According to the Bishop, if such is not organized to meet the spiritual needs of our people, they would go else where for such. The events was organised by the Board of Evangelism of the Diocese led by the Venerable Olugbenga Fagbemi.

Since the enthronement of Bishop Odedeji, the Diocese of Lagos West had had several spiritual programmes that were well attended by the members of the Diocese. The Triumphant Convocation of November 2013 was still the lips of the parishioners. Kudos to the Lord Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos West. The participants ranged from the children to old. The youth were the set of people that really enjoyed the fun. Some couples used the occasion for fanfare. It was indeed a joyous occasion. Almost everyone was with camera to have shots with the colourful vests and face caps.

Each Archdeaconry paraded in different colours in a match past while the Lord Bishop, the Rt Revd James Olusola Odedeji accompanied with Mama Lagos West and the Dean of the Cathedral, the Venerable Abel Ajibodu. Agege and Ogudu Archdeaconries stood on the podium to salute parades.

The parade of Boys and Girls Brigades were another memorable one. There were arrays of trumpeters, band boys and girls and officers led by the Diocesan Brigade Chaplain, the Venerable Sina Ayanlere. One could imagined how the heaven would be with the harmonious sounds of trumpets and the bands.

The prophetic ministration of the Rt Revd Praise Omo-Ekun was very impactful. Lives were transformed as many were baptised in the Holy Spirit. A lot of people responded to altar calls to receive Jesus Christ into their lives.

The Festival ended with a benediction from Bishop Odedeji.
