Be Heavenly Focused! - Bishop Odedeji charges youth.

The 2023 Diocesan Youth Chaplaincy Harvest was held on Sunday 12th November, 2023 with a reminder to the congregation and the World at large especially our teeming youths of eternal harvest. The event held at the Anglican Church of the Ascension Opebi in Opebi Archdeaconry had in attendance over one thousand youths and their chaplains across the Diocese.

Taking his text from Genesis 8:22, the Chief host and Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos West, Anglican Communion, the Rt. Reverend Dr. James Olusola Odedeji explained that harvest is in all ramifications and whatever one contributes will surely germinate. He emphasised that characters are seeds, adding that sowing and reaping are all encompassing.

Bishop Odedeji admonished the youths to surrender themselves totally to God's service so as to harvest open Heaven. He enumerated some evidence of open Heaven to include; undeniable access to God's throne, unrestricted access to heavenly resources, and divine approval and intervention that produces the goodness of God.

Bishop Odedeji also listed the benefits of Open Heaven as divine elevation, fruitfulness, numerous blessings as well as divine protection and provisions. He, however, maintained that there are conditions and terms attached to any offer, stressing that every blessing of God comes with terms and conditions. These according to the bishop are absolute obedience, shun adolatory, embrace generosity. He concluded with the illustration of the five categories of people in life - the poor, the comfortable, the rich , the wealthy and the flourishing and asked the gathering which of the categories they belong, pointing out that he belongs to the flourishing group and charged the gathering to up their games in Godly drives.
