BE GOOD SHEPHERDS! - BISHOP ODEDEJI TASKS DIOCESAN WOMEN ORGANISATION.

Women in the Diocese of Lagos West have again been urged to exemplify the qualities of Jesus Christ as the good Shepherd. This call was made by the Lord Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos West (Anglican Communion), the Rt. Revd. James Olusola Odedeji during the 2023 Fund Raising Service of the Diocesan Women Organisation, held at Bola Memorial Anglican Church, Abule Onigbagbo, Ikeja, Lagos.

Speaking on the theme, Christ, the Good Shepherd, the Bishop emphasized that there are good and bad Shepherds. He described a good shepherd as someone who is in charge of total survival of a sheep, saying that the essence of shepherding is to tend, protect, guide, and help the flock; and by extension, assist one another. Citing the Gospel of John Chapter 10 verse 7 to13, Bishop Odedeji affirmed that every child of God is called to be a good shepherd to his or her family, with a view to lead them in the fear of God. He maintained that Jesus Christ was our Shepherd as indicated in Psalm 23 Verse 1, and described Jesus as a visionary leader, urging everyone to imitate His exemplary lifestyle. Quoting various scriptures from the Holy Bible,
