FOR CHRISTIAN YEAR

ADVENT SUNDAY
Psalm 18:1-20
Collect: Almighty God, give us peace to cast away the works of darkness and to put on the armour of light, now in the time if this mortal life, in which Your Son Jesus Christ came to us in great humility so that on the last day, when He shall come again in His glorious majesty to judge the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through Him who is alive and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen.

ADVENT 2
Psalm 119:137-152
Collect: Blessed Lord, who caused all holy scriptures to be written for our learning, write in our hearts the lessons of your law; prepare our minds to receive the gospel, help us to hear them, to read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them that through patience and the comfort of your Holy Word, we may embrace and for ever hold fast the hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

ADVENT 3
Psalm 80
Collect: Almighty God, who sent Your servant John the Baptist to prepare your people for the coming of Your Son; inspire the ministers and stewards, of your truth to turn our disobedient hearts to the law of love; that when He comes again in glory, we may stand with confidence before Him as our judge, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God and forever. Amen.

ADVENT 4.
Psalm 40
Collect: Heavenly Father, You chose
the Virgin Mary to be the Mother of our Lord and Saviour; fill us with your grace that in all things we may, like her, accept your holy will and with her rejoice in your salvation, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

CHRISTMAS DAY
Psalm 19
Collect: All praise to you Almighty God and heavenly King, who sent your Son into the world to take our nature upon Him and to be born of a pure Virgin Mary; grant that we, who have been born again and made your children by adoption and grace may continually dwell in Him and reign on earth as He reigns in Heaven with you and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

1 SUNDAY AFTER CHRISTMAS
Psalm 132
Collect: Almighty god you have given us your only begotten Son to take upon Him and to be born of a pure Virgin; grant that we, who have been born again and made your children may daily be renewed by your Holy Spirit; through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the same Spirit, one God, now and forever.

CIRCUMCISION OF CHRIST (NEW YEAR DAY)
Psalm 8.
Collect: Almighty God, Whose blessed Son was circumcised obedience to the law for man’s sake and gave Him the Name that is above every other name; give us grace faithfully to bear his Name, to worship Him in the freedom of the Spirit, and to proclaim Him as the Saviour of mankind who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

CHRISTMAS 2
Psalm 9
Collect: Eternal God, who by the shining of a star led the wise men to the worship of your Son: guide by his light the nation of the earth, that the whole world may behold your glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

EPIPHANY DAY
Psalm 72:1-14
Collect: Eternal God, as we travel far and fast, lead our minds back to the wise men following your star, and forward to the day when all will see your shining light. Give us grace to learn your ways and to do your will, that we may bring justice and peace to all people, in the name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and for ever more.

EPIPHANY 1
Psalm 47
Collect: Almighty God, who anointed Jesus Christ at his baptism with the Holy Spirit, and revealed him as your beloved Son; inspire in us, your children, who are born of water and the Spirit, to surrender our lives to your service that we may rejoice to be called the sons of God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Psalm 16.
Collect: Almighty Father, look on the heartfelt desires of your servants and stretch forth your powerful right hand to be our defense against all our enemies, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Psalm 136
Collect: Almighty God, whose Son revealed in signs and miracles, the power of your saving love, renew your people with your heavenly grace and in all our weakness sustain us by your mighty power through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Psalm 34
Collect: Almighty God, in Christ you make all things new, transform the poverty of our nature by the riches of your grace and in the renewal of our lives make known your heavenly glory through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Psalm 92
Collect: Give us, Lord, we pray, the spirit to think and to do always those things that are right; that we, who can do no good thing without you may have power to live according to your holy will; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

EPIPHANY 6
Psalm 69:9-20
Collect: Heavenly Father, whose blessed Son was revealed that he might destroy the works of the devil and make us the sons of God and heirs of eternal life; grant that we, having this hope, may purify ourselves even as he is pure; that when he shall appear in power and great glory we may be made like him in his eternal and glorious kingdom where he is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

SEPTUAGESIMA SUNDAY (3RD BEFORE LENT)
Psalm 71
Collect: Eternal God, whose Son Jesus Christ is for all mankind the way, the truth and the life, grant us to walk in his way, to rejoice in his truth and to share his risen life, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever.

SEXAGESIMA SUNDAY (2ND BEFORE LENT)
Psalm 139
Collect: Almighty and ever living God, whose Son Jesus Christ has healed the sick and restored them to wholeness of life; look with compassion on the anguish of the world, and by your healing power make whole both men and nations, through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, One God now and forever. Amen.

QUINQUAGESIMA SUNDAY (SUNDAY NEXT BEFORE LENT)
Psalm 57
Collect: Almighty God, the Reformer of all who trust in you, give heed to the cry of your people, deliver us from the bondage of sin that we may serve you in perfect freedom and rejoice in your unfailing love; through Jesus Christ our Saviour.

ASH WEDNESDAY
Psalm 38
Collect: Almighty and merciful God, you hate nothing that you have made and forgive the sins of all those who are penitent. Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, we may receive from you, the God of all mercy, perfect forgiveness and peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

LENT 1
Psalm 119:9-24
Collect: Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ fasted for forty days in the wilderness, and was tempted as we are, yet without sin, give us grace to discipline ourselves in obedience to your Spirit; and as you know our weakness, so may we know your power to save; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

LENT 2
Psalm 119:73-88
Collect: Almighty Father and everlasting God, who in your tender love towards mankind sent your Son and our Saviour Jesus Christ to take upon Him our flesh and to suffer death upon the cross; grant that we may follow the example of his patience and humility, and also be made partakers of His resurrection through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord.

LENT 3
Psalm 119:105-120
Collect: Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ went not up into glory before He was crucified; mercifully, grant that we, walking in the way of the Cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

LENT 4 (MOTHERING SUNDAY)
Psalm 27
Collect: God of compassion, whose Son Jesus Christ, the child of Mary, shared the life of a home in Nazareth, and on the cross drew the whole human family to himself; strengthen us in our daily living that in joy and in sorrow we may know the power of your presence to bind together and to heal; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

LENT 5 (PASSION SUNDAY)
Psalm 66
Collect: Loving Father, you delivered and saved us all by the cross and passion of your son Jesus Christ, grant that by steadfast faith in the merit of His sacrifice we may find help and salvation, and may triumph in the power of His victory; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

PALM SUNDAY
Psalm 61
Collect: Almighty Father and everlasting God, who in your tender love towards mankind sent your son and our Saviour Jesus Christ to take upon Him our flesh and to suffer death upon the cross; grant that we may follow the example of His patience and humility, and also be made partakers of his resurrection, through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord.

EASTER DAY
Psalm 113
Collect: Lord of all life and power, who through the mighty resurrection of your Son overcame the old order of sin and death to make all things new in Him: grant that we being dead to sin and alive to you in Jesus Christ, may reign with Him in glory, to whom with you and the Holy Spirit be praise and honour, glory and might, now and in all eternity.

Almighty God, who through your only- begotten Son Jesus Christ overcame death and opened to us the gate of everlasting life: we humbly beseech you that, as by your special grace going before us, you put into our minds good desires, so by your continued help we may bring them to good effect, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

THE SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER. (EASTER 1)
Psalm 30
Collect: Almighty Father, who in your great mercy made glad the disciples with the sight of the risen Lord; gives us such knowledge of His presence with us, that we may be strengthened and sustained by His risen life and serve you continually in righteousness and truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

THE THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER.  ( EASTER 2)
Psalm 49
Collect:God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ, that great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant: make us perfect in every good work to do your will, and work in us that which is well is well-pleasing in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER ( EASTER 3)
Psalm 121
Collect:Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life of all who put their trust in Him; raise us, we pray, from the death of sin to the life of righteousness that we may seek the things which are above, where He reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

THE FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER (EASTER 4
Psalm 57
Collect: Almighty God, who alone can bring order to the unruly wills and passions of sinful men; give us grace to love what you command and to desire what you promise, that in all the changes and chances of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where lasting joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

THE SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER ( EASTER 5)
Psalm 65
Collect:Eternal father, your kingdom extends beyond space and time: grant that in this world of changing things we may hold fast to what endures for ever, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

THE SUNDAY AFTER ASCENSION
Psalm 108
COLLECT: Eternal God, the King of glory, you have exalted your only Son with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven. Leave us not comfortless, but send your Holy Spirit to strengthen and exalt us to the place where Christ is gone before and where with you and the Holy Spirit he is worshipped and glorified, now and for ever.

PENTECOST SUNDAY
Psalm 68:1-20
Collect: Almighty God who at this time taught the hearts of your faithful people by sending to them the light of your Holy Spirit: grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort; through the merits of Christ Jesus our Saviour, who is alive and reigns with you in the unity of the Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

TRINITY SUNDAY (PENTECOST 1)
Psalm 29
Collect: Almighty and everlasting God, you have given us your servants grace, by thee confession of a true faith to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of the divine majesty to worship the Unity. Keep us steadfast in this faith, that we may ever more be defended from adversities, through Jesus Christ our Lord who is alive, and reigns with you and Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

PENTECOST 2 (TRINITY 1)
Psalm 85
Collect: Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church is governed and sanctified: hear our prayer which we offer for all your faithful people, that each in his vocation and ministries may serve you in holiness and truth to the glory of your name; through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

PENTECOST 3 (TRINITY 2)
Psalm 20
Collect: Lord God our Father, through our Saviour Jesus Christ you have assured mankind of eternal life and in baptism have made us one with Him. Deliver us from the death of sin and raise us to new life in your love, in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

PENTECOST 4 (TRINITY 3)
Psalm 43
Collect: Almighty God, you have broken the tyranny of sin and have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts whereby we call you Father. Give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service, that all mankind may be brought to Jesus Christ our Lord.

PENTECOST 5 (TRINITY 4)
Psalm 119
Collect: Lord, you taught us that whatever we do without love is worth nothing; send your Holy spirit and pour into our hears that most excellent gift of love, the true bond of peace and of all virtues, without which whoever lives is counted dead before you; grant this for your only Son Jesus Christ’s sake.

PENTECOST 6 (TRINITY 5)
Psalm 77
Collect: God of our forbearers, as your chosen servant Abraham was given faith to obey your call and go out into the unknown, so may your church be granted such faith that we may follow you courageously now for ever, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Almighty God, without you we are not able to please you. Mercifully grant that your Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

PENTECOST 7 (TRINITY 6)
Psalm 81
Collect: Lord, you have taught us that all our doings without love are nothing worth. Send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of love, the true bond of peace and of all virtues, without which whoever lives is counted dead before you. Grant this for the sake of your only son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

PENTECOST 8 (TRINITY 7)
Psalm 73
Collect:Almighty God, who sent your Holy Spirit to be the life and light of your Church open our hearts to the riches of His grace, that we may bring forth the fruit of the spirit in love and joy and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

PENTECOST 9 (TRINITY 8)
Psalm 90
Collect:Almighty God, your word is a lamp to our feet and a light upon our path; grant that by patient study of the scriptures we may follow more closely the way that you set before us; through Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with you and the Holy spirit, one God now, and for ever.
Almighty God you see that we have n power of ourselves to keep ourselves; keep us both outwardly in our bodies and inwardly in our souls, that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt he soul, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

PENTECOST 10 (TRINITY 9)
Psalm 19
Collect: Father of mankind, who gave only- begotten son to take upon himself the form of a servant and to be obedient even to death on the cross; given us the same mind that was kin Christ Jesus that sharing His humility, we may come to be with Him in His glory; one God, one and for ever.

PENTECOST 11 (TRINITY 10)
Psalm 123
Collect: Almighty father, whose son Jesus Christ has taught us that what we do for the least of our brethren we do also for Him; give us the will to be the servant of others as He was the servant of all, who gave up His life and died for us; but is alive and reigns with you and the Holy spirit, one God, now and for ever.

PENTECOST 12 (TRINITY 11)
Psalm 150
Collect: Almighty God; who called your church to witness that you were in Christ reconciling men to yourself: help us to proclaim the good news of your love; that all who hear it may be reconciled to you; through Him who died for us and rose again and reigns with you and the Holy spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Psalm 130
Collect: Mercifully receive, o Lord, the prayers of your people who call upon you, Grant that they may know what they ought to do, and may have grace faithfully to accomplish it; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Psalm 103
Collect: Almighty father, who in these passion of your blesses son made an instrument of shameful death to be for us the means of life; grant us so to glory in the cross of Christ that we may gladly suffer for His sake; who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Psalm 50
Collect: Lord God, you have taught u that anything we do without love s worth nothing for whoever lives without love is counted dead before you: send your Holy spirit into our heats that most excellent gift of love, the true bound of peace and of all virtues: grant this for the sake of your son Jesus Christ.
Almighty and everlasting God, give unto us these increase of faith, hope and charity; and that we may obtain that which you promised, make us to love that which you command; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Psalm 107
Collect: Almighty God, you have taught us through your son that love is the fulfilling of the law, Grant that we may love you with our whole heart and our neighbour as ourselves, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

PENTECOST 17 (TRINITY 16)
Psalm 93
collect: Merciful God, you have prepared for those who loves you such good things as pass our understanding; pour into our hearts such love towards you; that, loving you above al else, we may obtain your promises, which exceed all that we can desire, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Lord of all power and might, the author and giver of all good things; grant in our hearts the love of your name, increase in us true religion, nourish in us all goodness, and of your great mercy keep us in the same; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

PENTECOST 18 (TRINITY 17)
Psalm 118
Collect: Almighty God, you have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless till they find their rest in you. Teach us to offer ourselves to your service, that here we may have your peace, and in the world to come may sere you face to face; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

PENTECOST 19 (TRINITY 18)
Psalm 37
Collect: Almighty and everlasting God, increase in us your gift of faith that forsaking what lies behind and reaching to that which is before, we may run the way of your commandments and win the crown of everlasting Joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Collect: O God, without you we are not able to please you mercifully, grant that your Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus our Lord, who live and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Psalm 23
Collect: Eternal father, whose Jesus ascended to the throne of heaven that he might rule over all things as Lord; keep the church in the unity of the bound of his peace, and bring the whole created order to worship at his feet; who is alive and reigns with you and holy spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Collect: Stir up o lord, the wills of your faithful people; that richly bearing the fruit of good works, they may by you be richly rewarded: through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Collect: Let your merciful ears, Lord God, be opened to the prayers of your people; and that they may obtain their petitions, make them ask such things, as will please you, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Collect: Merciful Father, your Son Jesus Christ healed the sick and restored them to fullness of life; look with compassion on the anguish of the world and heal the affliction of your people; through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Collect: God our Saviour, your Son has promised that when two or three come together in his name he is there with them; open our eyes that we may love Him; and our wills that that we may obey Him; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Psalm 76
Collect: Gracious Lord, your Son came to bring us good news and power to transform our lives; grant that when he comes again as judge we may be ready to meet Him with joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
